Coach Kylie Hale is now the new head coach for the softball team at Canyon Ridge High School for the 2025-2026 school year.
Previously, Coach Hale had played for three years at the College of Southern Idaho. Before her college career, she grew up around sports her whole life, and softball was one of them. She explained that one of her main motivations for coaching is “giving back to the community” with the sport that shaped her.
Coach Hale’s goals for the season focus on building a strong, connected program. She wants to create a “team culture” at CRHS where athletes feel supported, driven, and proud to represent their school.
Her top priorities include “building culture at CRHS,” encouraging athletes to push themselves academically and on the field, and helping her players feel excited to be part of something bigger than themselves.
To grow the program, Coach Hale plans to establish more opportunities for younger athletes to become involved early. She has already organized open fields, which began the second week of November and are held three times a week from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. She also hopes to create summer mini-camps and games that will bring the community together and provide students with additional opportunities to develop their skills. Looking ahead, Hale says she aims to start fall ball next year to continue strengthening the program throughout the year.
When asked how she plans to help athletes who may fall behind in school, Coach Hale emphasized the importance of consistent communication and steady support. She will conduct weekly check-ins, build study groups, and meet with players individually when needed. Hale said she will work with teachers to ensure athletes stay accountable in the classroom. When a student’s grades drop, they sit out of practice to focus on assignments, all to help student-athletes thrive.
Overall, Coach Hale hopes to build a program grounded in growth, connection, and community. She wants softball at CRHS to become something students look forward to joining, and she believes that strong relationships between coaches, players, and families are the key to long-term success. With high hopes, Hale is excited to lead Canyon Ridge softball into a new era.
